New Year's Miracle!

Happy New Year from the frozen hinterlands of North Carolina! Yep, we are still here in Dave’s old stomping grounds. We are waiting for an awning to be shipped. Yes, it’s the one that broke as we were driving in high, gusty winds in Idaho. We were going to order a new one there but they told us it would ship in two weeks. We assumed we would be gone by then but as it turns out, we had to stay . We could have had it shipped and installed there in Idaho. But, as often happens, things do work out for the best. We are having the new model (under warranty) with improvements shipped to us here. Hopefully it will ship today. It is no small thing so it will ship on a large truck that has other deliveries between here and there (Indiana).

As you may have heard, there are record-breaking cold temperatures here in North Carolina. Because of this, our RV camp turns the water off because the pipes are old. Consequently, we fill up our large tank and “hope for the best”. I made the mistake of throwing in a load of laundry late in the afternoon Saturday and by the time I went to put it in the dryer, the door was locked and the person gone home for the long weekend. It is still in the washer as of today, Monday! Not only that, Saturday evening Dave tells me that the propane level is on the yellow, which means that it is VERY low and will not last much longer. We turned the heater off, went to bed with the ceramic heater in the bedroom and everything else all closed off. When we got up Sunday morning, the water was frozen and, of course, the water pump will not pump ice! Therefore, no water, no showers, no clean dishes! The bottled water is fast disappearing and we are living like backpackers with a couple of creature comforts in the microwave and TV! And here’s the great part! We still have propane in the tank! Dave went out yesterday and the level is back up in the green and we are using it sparingly. I think of the oil in the widow’s jar that never went dry! God is so AWESOME! Thank you, Jesus! Now, please, God, will you melt the ice in this RV’s veins? Thank you! I NEED a shower!

Now it is time for me to go huddle up in my blanket and warm back up. We’ll keep you posted on the next adventure!

LOVE TO Y”ALL and may you each have a prosperous and blessed New Year!

  • Just so you know, when I had the LP tank filled up today, it still had a gallon in it. God is great! That is the second time in my life that God provided additional gas to meet my needs. PTL!
